Spirit of the Hive distills honey wine into pure alcohol, in the Methow Valley – located on the Eastern slope of Washington’s North Cascade Mountains. The Brightheart-Pixie Family tends honeybees in Chimacum, WA at Finn River Farm, in Olympia, WA at Calliope Farm, and at their home in the Methow Valley, Skalitude.
Skalitude is a 160 acre off grid retreat center, budding community, and pollinator sanctuary tucked into the Okanogan National forest. There they grow diverse nectarious flowering plants, providing abundant forage to support their honeybees and native pollinators. Many of the botanicals that infuse their, honey, meads, and spirits are cultivated or wildcrafted on the land that they tend.
